Crucibles

Crucibles

For over 131 years assayers have relied on DFC crucibles. DFC crucibles are designed to give dependable service at normal temperatures (1800°F to 2400°F).

DFC melting crucibles are especially designed for melting gold, silver and other non-ferrous metals. These crucibles are widely used for refining and for melting other materials having melting points up to 2750°F.
The complexity of some of the samples being analyzed has resulted in DFC Ceramics developing crucibles to match the arduous conditions required.

DFC has designed Casting Crucibles for use in melting, pouring or transferring molten metals, or for melting glass or adding color to glass! We have a formula just right for you! These crucibles are available in Alumina, Fused Silica, Magnesia and Quartz. Quartz is
our latest attempt to offer quality products for the high temperature range!

Annealing Cups

Bone Ash
Carefully processed natural tri calcium phosphate ground to exacting specifications to meet rigid screen analyses. Used for making bone ash and composite cupels for assaying. Supplied in four grades according to degree of fineness. Grade: XX and XXX packed in 25,50 and 100 lb. in addition to 200 lb. drums.

Ceramic Marking Crayons

DFC Ceramics Marking Crayons are made for the labeling or identification of ceramic goods in both industrial and laboratory uses. These crayons maintain their clarity up to 3000°F.

Ceramic crayons are used for labeling refractory in the field (bricks, boilers, castables, IFB) and laboratory testing. They are much easier and convenient to use than chrome paint.

Cupels

DFC CUPELS: for analysis of precious metals
A Cupel is a small, shallow, porous vessel used in assaying to separate precious metals from less valuable elements such as lead or base metals.

DFC Ceramics has manufactured cupels since 1876 for the precious metals industry. We offer 10 sizes and four material compositions: premium bone ash, composite, white magnesite and grey magnesite.

Sizes available: 1", 1.25", 1.5", 1.75", 2", 56mm, 2.5"
(Industries: Jewelry, Precious Metal Mines with Fire Assay Labs, Precious Metal Refiners).

Roasting Dishes
Designed for metallurgical tests requiring the roasting of ores, assaying, incinerating coal and other chemical procedures. or as a vessel for containment while applying heat during a sintering process. Available in Colorado Mix (round), Fused Silica and Sillimanite (rectangular).
