DFC Crucibles

For over 131 years assayers have relied on DFC crucibles. DFC crucibles are designed to give dependable service at normal temperatures (1800°F to 2200°F).
DFC melting crucibles are especially designed for melting gold, silver and other non-ferrous metals. These crucibles are widely used for refining and for melting other materials having melting points up to 2750°F.


The complexity of some of the samples being analyzed has resulted in DFC Ceramics developing crucibles to match the arduous conditions required.

CRUCIBLES: for melting materials, casting metals, and analysis of orebodies, etc.
A Crucible is a vessel made of a refractory substance used for melting and calcining materials at high temperatures.


DFC Ceramics has manufactured crucibles since 1876. We offer many material compositions for various industries:

  Fireclay max. recommended temp. 2000 degrees F. (1093 deg.C.)
  Colorado max. recommended temp. 2400 degrees F. (1315 deg.C.)
  FusedSilica      max. recommended temp. 2750 degrees F. (1510 deg.C.)

 

DFC offers a wide range of sizes from as small as 1.25" high to 13.25" high. Crucible shapes tend to be conical or cylindrical; however, DFC has the technology and Engineering capability to assist you with special, proprietary shapes designed to fit your needs.
